Reuben Sturman
The godfather of the pornography was, without a doubt, Reuben Sturman. Born in 1924, and grew up in the east of Cleveland, was the eldest son of a Russian Jewish emigrant, who own a grocery. Using his home as a storehouse, Reuben covered Cleveland with an old Dodge, selling jokes books in candy shops. In the late 1950s this business grew into a big wholesale company with warehouses in 8 cities.
At the suggestion of an employee, the company starts to sell sex magazines. Once Sturman realize that his income is 20 times bigger than the income generated by selling joke books, he decided to stock all such type of magazines.
At the end of 1960's Sturman is the number one in adult magazines distribution. Till the middle of 1970's Reuben own more than 200 bookstores for adults. Wasn't so popular as Hugh Hefner (PlayBoy), Larry Flynt (Hustler) and Bob Guccione (Penthouse), but he dominated the porn industry more than Bill Gates dominates the computer industry.
To protect his private life, Reuben used more than 20 pseudonyms, avoid mass media and frequently hide his face under a mask when appearing in court.
Ted Paramore
Ted Paramore, the son of a great Hollywood scriptwriter, start as an erotic clips producer in 1954. "You were only allowed to shoot girls in bikini, then in pasties, and then nudes. But you couldn't show pubic hair. This loops were just little stories. No sex
Russ Meyer

Radley Metzger
Entering the third century since the pioneers of the industry captured sexy clips on films, no one managed to improve these films as the big director Radley Metzger made.
His masterpiece "The Opening Of Misty Beethoven" (1975), is recognized as being the No. 1 in porn!
