Big Boom
The market for Adult films exploded in 1960's America, when there were about 20 cinemas allover the country that showed adult films exclusivery. In 1970, the number of these cinemas were 750.
After he visited the SONY's VCR presentation show, the Columbia Movie's director, Peter Guber, published a 15.000 words booklet, describing the shock which will follow: "The ... impending revolution will have an enormous impact on the motion picture industy, as well as every other American institution: music, thater, publishing, politics, sex, journalism, religion and big business. Financial empires will rise and fall; the home entertainment center will become the backbone of the national ecomony.
Guber belived that this new technology would create a huge new market for pornography. "One can make their own home movies, tapes and films as well as find distribution for them. Thus home nudies with neighborhood actors and actresses are a certainty" (The New BallGame)
